Services: innovation, engineering and funding for companies investing in Italy
I work as a certified Innovation Manager (UNI 11814) and as a licensed engineer (Italy), registered with the Order of Engineers of the Province of Lecce, no. 4603, Section A, information sector. I help you decide where to innovate, build a plan that holds up, find the resources and see the project through to results. When a technical signature is needed, such as an appraisal or an acceptance test, I sign it myself.
My clients include foreign companies with branches, plants or subsidiaries in Italy, investors opening or acquiring a business in Southern Italy, and European organisations that want to work in English. I am based in Lecce. I work on site in Italy and remotely across Europe. The services are grouped into three areas.
Where do you start?
| If this is your situation | Start with |
|---|---|
| You know you need to change but not where to begin | Digital assessment and roadmap |
| You have a project in Italy and want public funding for it | Grants and public funding |
| You need ongoing guidance without a new hire | Temporary innovation manager |
| You want to know what AI can do in your company | Artificial intelligence for SMEs |
| You want innovation to become a stable process | ISO 56001 innovation management system |
| Your teams already use AI and you need clear rules | AI governance and the EU AI Act |
| Your Italian site bought a 4.0 asset and wants hyper-depreciation | Hyper-depreciation technical appraisals |
| You must check software or an ICT supply before final payment | ICT acceptance testing and technical advisory |
| You are a public body with a digital project to govern | Public sector and PNRR projects |
All services follow the same working method, from listening to measuring results. If you first want to see where you stand, take the digital maturity test.
Strategy and innovation
Here we decide where to invest, with which method and under which rules. This is the innovation manager’s work: strategy, project portfolio, processes.
-
Innovation manager for SMEs
The core service. I support you on innovation strategy, the project portfolio and technology decisions, using the method of UNI 11814 and ISO 56001.
-
Temporary innovation manager
An innovation lead in your company for a defined period, a few days a month, without hiring an executive. Useful when an Italian site needs a local reference person.
-
Digital assessment and roadmap
We measure your company’s digital maturity and turn it into a roadmap with priorities, estimated costs and timelines. It is the safest starting point.
-
ISO 56001 innovation management system
Design and roll-out of an innovation management system under the international standard, up to certification readiness if you want it.
Digital and artificial intelligence
Artificial intelligence, the rules for using it, digital channels and trained people: digital tools that become part of everyday work.
-
Artificial intelligence for SMEs
AI readiness, choice of use cases, pilot projects with clear indicators.
-
AI governance and the EU AI Act
AI inventory, usage policy, risk assessment and staff AI literacy under the EU AI Act, with ISO/IEC 42001 as the reference model. For companies operating in Italy, also the duties of Italian Law 132/2025.
-
Digital strategy and marketing
Digital strategy, positioning, channels and measurement of results. The work I started with in 2014, with SMEs of the Chamber of Commerce of Brindisi.
-
Training and workshops
Courses and workshops on innovation, Industry 4.0, artificial intelligence and digital marketing, for companies, training bodies and schools, in Italian or English.
Engineering and funding
Here you need a licensed engineer and a signature, or the funding for a project and someone to run it, from companies to public bodies.
-
Hyper-depreciation technical appraisals
Sworn technical appraisal of Industry 4.0 assets, tangible and intangible, and of their interconnection, as required for Italy’s 2026 hyper-depreciation. For companies with plants, branches or permanent establishments in Italy.
-
ICT acceptance testing and technical advisory
Acceptance testing and conformity checks of software, networks and platforms for companies and public bodies, technical appraisals of IT systems and party-appointed technical expert work in Italian proceedings.
-
Grants and public funding
Italian and EU public funding for companies investing in Italy and Southern Italy: choosing the scheme, project, application, technical report and final reporting. The current status of regional calls in Apulia is on innovationmanager.puglia.it (in Italian).
-
Public sector and PNRR projects
ICT management, contract execution direction and governance of public digital projects, including those funded by Italy’s Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).
Frequently asked questions
Can't find your question? Write to me and I will answer.
Which service should we start with?
If you are not yet sure where to act, start with the digital assessment: in a few weeks we measure your digital maturity and set priorities. If you already have a clear project in Italy and want public funding for it, start with grants. If you need ongoing guidance without a new hire, consider the temporary innovation manager. In the introductory call I suggest the most suitable entry point.
Can the services be combined?
Yes, and they often are. A typical path starts with the assessment, continues with the roadmap, finds funding through a grant and ends with training and measurement of results. Each service also works on its own: I do not ask you to buy a package. For groups with several sites, we agree which parts are handled centrally and which in Italy.
Do you publish your prices?
No, because the work varies a lot from one organisation to another. After the introductory call I send you a written proposal with activities, timeline, deliverables and fee. If the project goes through an Italian or EU grant, I tell you which consultancy costs may count as eligible expenses under that scheme.
Do you work with companies based outside Italy?
Yes. I work with foreign companies that have, or plan to open, a branch, plant or subsidiary in Italy, and with European organisations that need a consultant on the EU AI Act, ISO 56001 or innovation management. I am based in Lecce, Italy, and I work in English, on site in Italy and remotely across Europe.
Can a foreign-owned company access Italian public funding?
Often it can, through a company or local unit registered in Italy that meets the requirements of the specific scheme. Eligibility depends on the call: company size, sector, location of the investment and aid already received all matter. I check these points before suggesting any scheme. Nobody can promise approval: the decision rests with the managing body.
