ICT acceptance testing, technical appraisals and party-appointed expert work in Italy
I carry out acceptance testing of software and IT systems for companies and public bodies in Italy: I check that what you received matches the contract and specifications, before final payment. I sign as a licensed engineer (Italy), registered with the Order of Engineers of the Province of Lecce, no. 4603, Section A, information sector. If the matter ends up in an Italian court, I support you as a party-appointed technical expert.

This is useful for foreign companies with Italian subsidiaries that commission software locally, for foreign vendors delivering to Italian customers, and for public bodies. I work on site in Lecce and Apulia, in Southern Italy with site visits, and remotely across Italy and with teams abroad for software and web platforms. I work in English or Italian.
When you need ICT acceptance testing or a technical appraisal
Software to accept
The vendor has delivered the ERP, e-commerce site or app and asks for final payment, but you do not know whether it works as promised.
A public supply to check
You are a public body and must complete the conformity check of an ICT supply, perhaps funded by Italy’s Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), without in-house technical expertise.
Support for the RUP or DEC
You are the project manager (RUP) or contract execution director (DEC) of an Italian public contract and need technical support on a complex supply.
A faulty data migration
You moved data to a new system and records are missing, reports do not add up, integrations stop.
An IT dispute
You have an open dispute with an IT vendor or a customer and your lawyer asks for a technical report.
Software to value
You need a value for software or an IT system, for a sale, a contribution in kind or a dispute.

Party-appointed technical expert (CTP)
In Italian civil cases on software, websites, cloud services, lost data and IT supplies: party technical report, attendance at the expert operations, observations on the court expert’s report.
Help drafting the specifications
When the supply has not started yet: the least expensive way to make acceptance testing straightforward.
Court expert (CTU) appointments come from the judge, after registration with the court’s register of experts under Ministry of Justice Decree 109/2023.
How I work
Listening
I start from the documents: contract, specifications, technical offer, change requests, minutes. Without them a test is just an opinion.
Diagnosis
I read the material and within a few days tell you whether it is enough.
Plan and resources
I write the test plan, the list of tests with pass criteria, and share it with the client and the supplier before starting.
Delivery and results
We run joint tests, on the production environment or an equivalent one, and I record results and evidence; the number of sessions depends on the number of requirements. In the minutes and report I classify issues as blocking, major or minor, each linked to the contract clause it concerns, then retest the open issues and close the minutes.
These are the four steps of the method I follow in every project.
In disputes the path changes: review of the case documents with your lawyer, party technical report, attendance at the expert operations, written observations.
As a quality grid for software I use ISO/IEC 25010:2023: functional suitability, performance efficiency, compatibility, interaction capability, reliability, security, maintainability, flexibility, safety. A full checklist is available in Italian.

What is the difference between acceptance testing and a conformity check?
In the Italian public procurement code (Legislative Decree 36/2023, Article 116), collaudo applies to works, while the conformity check (verifica di conformità) applies to services and supplies. Software, a platform or a supply of network equipment therefore goes through a conformity check. In business language everything is called acceptance testing: what matters is a documented check against the contract.
What is a party-appointed technical expert?
In Italian civil proceedings the judge may appoint a court expert (CTU) to answer technical questions. Each party can appoint its own technical expert (consulente tecnico di parte, CTP), who follows the court expert’s work, attends the inspections and submits written observations. I act as CTP alongside your Italian lawyer. Court expert appointments come from the judge, after registration with the court’s register of experts.
We are a foreign company with a dispute over software delivered in Italy. Can you help?
Yes, on the technical side. Whether you are the customer or the supplier, I analyse the contract, specifications and system, write a party technical report and, if the case goes to court in Italy, follow the expert operations as CTP. I explain findings to you in English; the legal strategy stays with your Italian lawyer.
Do you test systems you designed or managed yourself?
No. Whoever checks must be independent of whoever designed, directed or built the system. If I followed a project as a consultant or as contract execution director, I refer you to another engineer for the final check. The same applies to vendors I work with.
Do you work outside Lecce?
Yes. Most tests on software and web platforms can be run remotely, with access to test and production environments, so I work across Italy and with teams abroad. For networks, equipment and on-premises systems I carry out site visits in Apulia and Southern Italy; for sites further away we agree on travel together.
